Pizza Pasta
/Ingredients
1 teaspoon Grapeseed Oil
1/2 pkg. Mini Pepperoni Pieces (Reg Size Pepperoni is fine too)
1/2-1 lb. Ground Sausage
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 onion, finely diced
1 (16 oz) can/jar Pizza Sauce
4 cups water
1 bag of Gluten Free Penne Pasta
1 16 oz bag of Mozzarella
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Directions
Step 1: Heat the grapeseed oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the ground sausage to the pan and break it up. Cook sausage until browned. While cooking the sausage, put water in another pot and get boiling. Once boiling, add noodles and cook according to package directions. Then strain noodles and return to pot. After sausage is browned, add the onion and garlic to the ground sausage and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the onions have softened. Strain and return into the pan.
Step 2: Put half the pepperoni in with the sausage, along with the pizza sauce. Season with salt and pepper, to taste, and stir. Heat through. Combine the noodles and meat mixture.
Step 3: Preheat an oven to 350 degrees. Transfer the Pizza Pasta to an oven safe 9x13 dish. Cover the Pasta Dish with the rest of the pepperoni and the Mozzarella Cheese. Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted and it’s heated through. Once the dish is cooked, scatter fresh herbs if you choose.
